When you set up the app, you tell us about your space — your zip code (so we know your climate zone), how much sun your yard gets, and your style preferences. Our design engine then selects plants that are:

• Zone-verified — every plant can survive your winters
• Style-matched — scored for texture, form, color, and visual cohesion
• Companion-aware — selected to grow well together as a system
• Proportioned & layered — arranged with depth and balance (thrillers, fillers, spillers, anchors)

The result is a cohesive garden design with a visual preview and a precise plant shopping list.

After your garden is designed, you get a precise plant list with:

• The exact plants to buy
• The quantity of each plant
• Each plant's role in the design (thriller, filler, spiller, anchor, etc.)

Gardenful offers a free tier that lets you explore garden styles, browse plants, and create a limited number of garden designs. A premium subscription unlocks unlimited designs, full plant access, and additional features.

No. You can use Gardenful anonymously without creating an account. However, creating an account allows you to save your garden designs and sync them across devices.

Gardenful requires iOS 17.0 or later. It is designed for iPhone.

You can delete your account from the Profile tab in the app. When you delete your account, all associated data — including garden designs, preferences, and any stored photos — is permanently removed from our servers.

The app may request location access to automatically detect your USDA hardiness zone, which determines which plants can survive in your area. This is optional — you can enter a zip code manually instead. We do not track your location or share it with anyone.
