Information We Collect

Location Data

We may request access to your device's location to determine your USDA plant hardiness zone. This allows us to recommend plants that will thrive in your specific climate. Location access is entirely optional — you can manually enter a zip code instead. We store only your derived hardiness zone and approximate city name, not your precise GPS coordinates.

Garden Preferences

When you use the app, we collect the preferences you provide during setup, including your preferred garden style, color palettes, gardening goals, maintenance level, experience level, and whether you need pet-safe plants. This data is used to personalize your garden design recommendations.

Photos

You may choose to take or upload photos of your garden space to receive personalized design visualizations. Camera and photo library access is only used when you explicitly initiate it. Photos are processed to generate your garden design and are stored securely.

Usage Data

We collect basic usage information such as the number of garden designs created, plants browsed, and care tasks completed. This helps us improve the app experience. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell usage data.

How We Use Your Information

What We Don't Do

• We do not send marketing push notifications — all notifications are local care reminders that you control

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption both in transit and at rest. Garden preferences and designs are synced to our cloud servers so you don't lose your work. Some data is also cached locally on your device for offline access.

Anonymous Use

You can use Gardenful without creating an account or providing any personal information. The app supports anonymous sessions so you can explore garden designs and browse plants without signing up.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the app. When you delete your account, all associated data — including your garden designs, preferences, care history, and any stored photos — is permanently removed from our servers.

Children's Privacy

Gardenful is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
