Gardenful (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data when you use our iOS application and related services.

Information We Collect

Location Data

We may request access to your device's location to support location-based features such as climate-appropriate plant recommendations. Location access is optional — you can provide location information manually instead.

Garden Preferences

When you use the app, we collect the preferences you provide during setup to personalize your garden design recommendations.

Photos

You may choose to take or upload photos of your garden space to receive personalized design visualizations. Camera and photo library access is only used when you explicitly initiate it. Photos are processed to generate your garden design and are stored securely. When you request a garden visualization, your photo is sent to Google Vertex AI for processing — see “Third-Party Services” below.

Usage and Device Data

We may automatically collect information about your device, app activity, diagnostics, crash reports, and other technical information to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide, operate, and personalize the Service
• To generate AI-powered garden visualizations using your photos
• To process transactions and subscriptions
• To secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service
• To communicate with you about the Service
• To comply with law and protect our rights

Third-Party Services

When you request a garden visualization, your photo and selected garden area are sent to Google's Vertex AI service to generate the design image. Google processes this data according to their Cloud Service Terms.

We also use third-party service providers for cloud hosting, authentication, subscription management, analytics, and crash reporting. These providers process data on our behalf. We may also disclose information to professional advisers, law enforcement or regulators as required by law, or counterparties in a corporate transaction (such as a merger or sale). We do not sell your personal information.

Data Storage & Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Your data is synced to our cloud servers so you don't lose your work, and some data is cached locally on your device for offline access.

Anonymous Use

Some features may be available without creating an account. Even without an account, we may still collect device, usage, and diagnostic information as described in this Policy.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data under applicable privacy laws (such as the GDPR or CCPA). We do not sell personal information. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app. To exercise any other data rights, contact us at support@gardenful.app.

Account Deletion

You can request deletion of your account from within the app or by contacting us. When you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your associated data, except where retention is required for backups, security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or other legitimate purposes.

Aggregated and De-identified Data

We may create, use, and disclose aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you, for any lawful purpose.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, or under any higher minimum age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from such children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child in violation of applicable law, we will take steps to delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
